LITIGATION SUPPORT
Any case has the potential of being litigated. As such, the key to successfully litigating a case is being able to identify and gather evidence. Our litigation support services provides clients with the expertise and resources they need to efficiently gather evidence needed for a positive outcome.
Any and all information that could be relevant needs to be identified, secured, and analyzed at the earliest possible stage of an investigation.
We assist businesses, attorneys, and litigation teams with the collection of evidence through case law research, record retrieval, background checks, and witness interviews. Additionally, we conduct workplace investigations and assist attorneys with State Bar Investigations pending against them.
Case Law Research
Our goal is to identify laws and find the statutes, regulations, and court opinions that apply to the facts of your case. The information we obtain will help support your legal argument in motions or briefs filed with the court or can simply be used to provide your clients with accurate legal guidance.
Record Retrieval
Retrieving records can be a tedious and very time-consuming task for busy attorneys and others alike. Our team takes the hassle out of obtaining documents so you can direct your attention to other time sensitive matters.
Background Checks
Background checks provide insight that can be very useful in understanding individuals. It gives a depiction of the individual's character and helps inform you whether the individual has had isolated or reoccurring run-ins with the law and whether they are being truthful. If you find that the individual has lied to you about their background, odds are they may be lying about other things as well.
Witness Interviews
We use a variety of research techniques to identify witnesses that can help our clients win their cases. It is very important to locate these individuals and obtain their statement to identify anomalies that could either be detrimental or beneficial to the case. This helps attorneys either give credibility or discredit a witness before cross-examination, which can be helpful when an attorney is looking for the "smoking gun" in their case.
State Bar Investigations
Pursuant to Business & Professions Code §6068(i), it is your duty to cooperate in any disciplinary investigation or other regulatory or disciplinary proceeding pending against you. The Office of Chief Trial Counsel (OCTC) often requests voluminous documentation as part of their investigation, which can be time consuming for attorneys with busy schedules. Our team helps alleviate the pressure by gathering the information being requested and assisting in the preparation of a response to the State Bar's Letter of Inquiry.
